Yesterday's
problem,
tomorrow's
solution

InterBioFuel is a development platform for new innovative products.

Our primary products come from what was yesterday's waste, but will become tomorrow's solution. With us, nothing is waste, but a resource that can be refined into products that solve a specific problem better, cheaper and smarter.

We develop our own ideas but collaborate with a number of institutions to accelerate the product development processes. Both private companies and governmental organisations are daily partners in the development of the products.
We believe sustainability should come naturally, which is why all our internal processes are measured to optimise resource consumption so that our activities leave the smallest possible climate and environmental footprint.

Vision

We are always ahead of sustainability requirements and regulations and will continuously raise the sustainability criteria ourselves before it becomes a legal requirement. We will develop products that solve problems in agriculture and aquaculture in particular, through the use of raw materials that are currently considered low value products or unrecycled waste.

Mission

We are a Danish-owned company with great ambitions for expansion and innovation. Our main driving force is to constantly develop our products and solutions to a higher level.

Our platform is a solid professional knowledge, coupled with an understanding of our current and future customers' needs.

Values

We have a circular and sustainable mindset.
We are open to new ideas to challenge our way of thinking.
We push the limits and turn challenges into opportunities.
We invest in strong partnerships and expertise.

Our primary business areas.

We are a learning organisation that constantly develops knowledge and technology platforms for products that are one step ahead. What is burned for energy purposes today could be a high-value feed additive or mixture in the petrochemical industry tomorrow.

Our current main activities target the biggest challenges in agriculture and aquaculture such as methane emissions from ruminants, based on active compounds extracted from cashew nut shells using new proprietary processing methods.

In addition to extracted active compounds, we aim to develop applications for all residual streams from cashew nut shells, making it a circular and sustainable solution with no or minimum residues.

Moreover, we have a number of smaller projects in the areas below.

Products

Liquid products

We work in a variety of liquids of plant origin and find applications for them in completely new forms. Our philosophy is a constant search for a product that is one level better than what is technologically possible today. While yesterday we burned oil for energy, tomorrow it could be a high-value product as a food additive or active ingredient in the petrochemical industry.

Innovation is a constant process where a current application is only a stepping stone to a future application.

We aim to reduce the world's emissions by 1 million tonnes of CO2 per year in 2030, increasing to 5 million tonnes of CO2 in 2035.

Solid Biomass

Through our group structure, we have access to a number of solid biomass products that we continuously develop. Solid biomass has been used for years as a low-value product for burning in energy plants. Before biomass is burned, however, various components can be extracted from the biomass that can partially or completely replace chemical or fossil products.

Solid biomass will be a part of our business for the next 10 years, where we expect to see a decline in 2030, towards a total refinement of the solid volume by 2035.

After 2035, our solid biofuels will come exclusively from residual products from our own production and used for local power generation, in which process we expect to displace up to 0.5 million tonnes of CO2 per year from fossil power generation.

Additives

Building on our African, South American and Asian operations, we find raw materials that can be upcycled from residues to active components in animal feed and ultimate refining of products for food,
our current focus being cashew products and extracted compounds.

Raw materials are produced locally to minimise the carbon footprint of the raw materials and end products are processed as close to the consumer as possible to minimise the carbon footprint of the entire chain.

Research

Our activities are customised to a range of specific products, the majority of which target agriculture and aquaculture.

This development often leads to the discovery of components in raw materials that chemically prove to have potential in areas they were not originally intended for.

Therefore, research often provides opportunities to pursue products that are far from their original purpose.

Through our basic research results, we will therefore continuously evaluate possible applications for residues and by-products that can be processed and used as liquid biofuels or in the paint industry.

The Team

We are a science-based innovation company that will need new talent for our expansion on a regular basis. Look for vacancies on this page or LinkedIn and feel free to contact us.
